Pilates studio software compared: 7 options for small studios

The short answer

For a small pilates studio, the right software handles private sessions, reformer capacity and monthly memberships without a long contract or a cut of your sales. Mindbody and Arketa are the broadest but cost the most; Punchpass and Momoyoga are simple and cheap but gate memberships to higher plans; elastudio takes no cut of sales and includes privates from CA$29.

The best pilates studio software for a small studio is the one that handles private sessions, reformer capacity and monthly memberships on a plan you can afford, without a long contract or a share of your sales. Below we compare seven options on exactly those points, with prices checked in October 2026 and what each one does well.

What does a pilates studio need that a yoga studio might not?

Pilates has a few habits that general fitness software handles badly. Before you compare prices, write down which of these apply to you:

  • Private and duet sessions. Many pilates studios earn a large share of revenue from one-to-one and two-person sessions, often priced per person. See our guide to private pilates session pricing.
  • Fixed capacity per room. A reformer room holds as many people as it has reformers. Two classes booked into the same room at the same time is a real problem, not a cosmetic one.
  • Monthly memberships for regulars, plus class packs for everyone else. Our comparison of class packs vs memberships shows the numbers.
  • Intro offers that turn a first class into a membership.
  • Clear cancellation rules, because an empty reformer is lost money.

If you only run mat classes with open capacity, almost any booking tool will do. The more boxes you ticked, the more the differences below matter.

How do the main pilates software options compare?

Prices are the public monthly price for one location, from each vendor’s pricing page or, where noted, third-party estimates. All checked October 2026. Card processing fees are extra on every platform.

Software Starting price Fee on your sales Private sessions Recurring memberships Contract
Mindbody From US$79 per location; higher tiers by quote None on studio sales Yes Yes Depends on plan and terms signed
Arketa US$49 a month yearly (Individual); studio plans by quote 3% on Individual plans Yes Yes Monthly or yearly
WellnessLiving US$69 (1 staff); US$199 for unlimited staff Not published Yes Yes Monthly or yearly
Punchpass US$59 (Grow) None Yes From Flow, US$99 Month to month
OfferingTree US$120 (Studio Starter) None on studio plans Yes Yes Monthly or yearly
Momoyoga Free; EUR 29 a month yearly (Standard) 5% on Free only No From Plus, EUR 59 a month yearly Monthly or yearly
elastudio Free; CA$29 (Starter) None on any plan Yes, from Starter 1 on Free, unlimited from Starter Monthly or yearly, no setup fee

What does each one do best?

A fair comparison names strengths, not just gaps.

Mindbody

The broadest suite in the market: point of sale, waivers, kiosk check-in, video, an AI front desk and a consumer app with millions of monthly shoppers, plus ClassPass under the same parent company. If marketplace exposure brings you new clients, that is a real benefit. The trade-off is price: only the US$79 entry price is published, pick-a-spot and room management start on a higher tier, and reviewers often mention long contracts. More in our Mindbody alternatives guide.

Arketa

Modern and design-led, popular with US boutique pilates studios, with good integrations (ClassPass, Wellhub, Zapier). Entry for solo instructors is cheap, but the Individual plans add 3% on top of Stripe, and studio plans are priced by quote.

WellnessLiving

A Canadian all-in-one with published pricing and a broad feature set, often cheaper than Mindbody for similar depth. Note that the US$69 Starter plan allows one staff member, so most studios with teachers land on Business at US$199.

Punchpass

Simple, friendly and transparent, with no platform fee and highly rated support. Recurring memberships start on Flow (US$99), so a membership-based pilates studio should price that plan, not Grow.

OfferingTree

Bundles a website builder with booking, which can replace a separate website bill. Studio plans start at US$120, which some solo teachers find high.

Momoyoga

Very easy, built for yoga teachers, with a generous free plan and video on demand. It has no one-to-one appointment booking, which rules it out for many pilates studios.

elastudio

Our own product, so judge it by the same checklist. It is built for small yoga and pilates studios: private sessions with studio and teacher approval, at the studio or at the member’s address, with a price per extra person for duets; a room calendar that refuses double bookings; and no percentage of your sales on any plan. Make-up classes, booking a fixed weekly spot, late-cancel fees and pick-a-spot are coming soon, so if you need those today, factor that in.

How much will a small pilates studio really pay?

The headline price is rarely the bill. Here is a worked example for a studio with 3 teachers, about 120 members booking each month and CA$12,000 in monthly card sales:

Cost line What to check
Subscription The plan that includes your teacher logins, memberships and privates, not the entry plan
Platform fee 3% of CA$12,000 is CA$360 a month; 5% is CA$600
Card processing Stripe in Canada charges 2.9% + CA$0.30 per domestic card (Stripe, checked October 2026), at least CA$348 a month on these sales plus CA$0.30 per payment, whichever software you use
Setup or migration Some vendors charge for onboarding or data transfer
Add-ons Branded app, text messages, extra locations

The card processing line is roughly the same everywhere. The subscription and platform fee lines are where software choices actually differ, which is why we wrote a separate post on studio software with no transaction fees.

What should you ask in every demo or trial?

Copy this checklist into your notes:

  • Can a member book and pay for a private session, and can I approve it first?
  • Can I charge a different price when a second person joins a private?
  • What stops two classes from being booked into the reformer room at once?
  • Which plan includes monthly memberships billed automatically?
  • Is there any percentage taken from my sales, on any plan?
  • How long is the contract, and what does it cost to leave?
  • Can members book inside my own website, under my brand?
  • Can I import my members from a spreadsheet?
  • What is live today, and what is on the roadmap?

Which pilates software should you choose?

A short verdict, based on the facts above:

  • You want marketplace exposure and the widest feature list: Mindbody, if the price works.
  • You are a solo instructor in the US on a tight budget: Arketa Individual or Punchpass Grow, checking the 3% fee on Arketa.
  • You teach mostly group mat classes and sell videos: Momoyoga.
  • You run privates, a reformer room and monthly memberships, and want no cut of sales: elastudio.

If your studio is in Brazil, the options change completely (Pix, reais, Wellhub and TotalPass matter). We cover that in our Portuguese guide.

Questions people ask

What is the best software for a small pilates studio?

It depends on how you sell. Studios that run mostly monthly memberships and private sessions need both on an affordable plan. Studios that want a consumer marketplace for new clients may accept Mindbody's higher price for that exposure.

How much does pilates studio software cost?

Published prices for the tools in this comparison run from free to about US$350 a month, and several boutique platforms only quote after a sales call. By our estimate, a typical one-location studio pays between about US$60 and US$280 a month, plus card processing (checked October 2026).

Do I need pick-a-spot booking for reformer classes?

Only if members care which reformer they get. Most small studios do fine with a class capacity that matches the number of reformers and a room calendar that prevents two classes from using the same room at once.

Which pilates software takes a percentage of sales?

Momoyoga's Free plan adds 5% and Arketa's Individual plans add 3% on top of Stripe's fee (checked October 2026). Always check the plan you will actually use, not just the headline price.
